Things You Should Not Miss When in Oslob, Cebu City!

Oslob in Cebu is a great place to visit, especially if you are looking for a good sight, sceneries, adventure, and fun. While the Queen City of the South is known to be a place of feast and life, Oslob takes its part to prove it. Here are a few of the many things you can enjoy while in Oslob, Cebu.



One of the main factors why Oslob has been in the tourism map of the Philippines is its whale sharks that have been a tourism magnet. You’ll be surprised how tourists from different places are flocked to Oslob, lining to experience whale watching. To capture the moments underwater, an underwater camera is available for rent where you can bring your own flash drive or they can give you a CD for the copy of your photos.



A 24-hectare coral island off the coast, this island was developed in an eco-friendly refuge for those who would like to get away from the busy streets and black smokes in the city. It has four major diving sites which are popularly known as the Garden Eel Plaza, Nikki’s Wall, Julie’s Rock, and Coral Landscape. This is actually the first Philippine marine protected area.



The Cuartel is a part of Oslob Heritage Park that’s still an unfinished building consisting of coral blocks resembling a Spanish-era barracks that are a good site for picture taking and photo ops. It was believed that the Cuartel was supposed to be for the Spanish soldiers.



This can be found just right in front of the Cuartel and is considered as the centerpiece of the Heritage Park of Oslob. Today, the present-day church of cut coral stone had matched so perfectly with the overall appearance of Oslob.



A Spanish term for watchtower, “baluarte” was purposely built in 1788 as a safe place for local guards while observing the surrounding area against the Moro invasion.
